Greetings Villagers! We hope this late evening update finds you well. We received some images from the factory today so we thought... why keep these to ourselves? Time for some show and tell!
The factory is at the resin print stage, which means we've perfected (hopefully, this is why we review everything in a 3D resin print) to make sure the digital models are all coming together for the tooling as we intended. In this case... we are almost there. We've asked the factory for a few adjustments but overall are feeling very happy and excited about what we saw from our friends at the factory today.
Scale lineup. Here's an image of most of the figures lined up, giving the scale/size. We thought this was a fun thing to look at. Our lineup of wave no2... minus a familiar No2 who we have gone back to the factory with some minor notes on.
The Butler, in 3D, ready to serve and ready to rebel along with No1... ahem, we mean No6. We are thrilled to see how he is coming together.
Speaking of The Butler and Chimes of Big Ben... we had some conversations with the factory on how to get that umbrella into the box! Looks like we are going to include it disassembled... the handle with fit into the canopy after you open it (*some assembly required as they used to say). How fun, this giant striped umbrella will be lurking behing No2 and the Butler in the box.
So yes! Information about manufacturing... it's going well!
In other news... you may or may not have seen... we are bringing comedy film legends LAUREL & HARDY into Wandering Planet Toys action figure form! We are so excited to soon be launching the campaign for Stan and Oliie. Here's another look at the duo and a link to the campaign page, should you be interested... and yes! As with our fandom for The Prisoner and Nancy Drew we are lifelong and massive fans of Mr. Stan Laurel and Mr. Oliver Hardy, and we have the great pleasure of making the first ever 1/12 Scale screen accurate legends of cinema and comedy in action figure form. Laurel and Hardy will launch soon… and we are hard at work on more highly detailed, fully articulated collectible figures in this scale that we know you love…

Golden Age Hollywood comedy geniuses Laurel & Hardy made 32 silent shorts, 40 sound shorts, and 23 feature films. They entertained millions of fans for generations on film, on radio, and live on stage.Their multi-decade careers inspired lots of Laurel & Hardy collectables and merchandise, but there have never been 1:12 scale articulated action figures of Stan & Ollie, until now! Wandering Planet Toys is launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund the first officially licensed 6-inch Laurel & Hardy figures.
The 6-inch deluxe fully articulated collectible figures based on Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy will be available in beautiful Full-Color or in crisp, classic Black & White. Both sets will include display stands, 5 pairs of interchangeable hands in different positions, two different facial expression portraits, and Stan and Ollie's signature bowler hats to maximize fans’ play and display options! Greetings Villagers! We hope this update finds you well! We just returned from San Diego Comic-Con and wanted to drop you all an update.
MANUFACTURING
Manufacturing on Wave No2 of our Prisoner Retro Action figures is well under way, and going smoothly! The factory send us this photo this morning of many of the new parts "test printed" after receiving adjustments from the factory. Because our factory knows the ins and outs of pouring plastic, painting and producing these figures, there is a round of notes we go through with them, to insure our 3D models translate as best as possible to a 3D mold and production. They've made all their adjustments and we're now looking at the results. Fun to see these coming along! We'll keep you posted as pre-production process continues!
SDCC, INDIE TOY MAKERS UNITE!
We want to thank Toyshiz, Rich Mayerik, Brian from Super 7, Bill from Fresh Monkey Fiction and the awesome audience for joining us and having a fun (and hopefully) informative conversation about the ins and outs of independent toy funding and manufacturing. It's become a fun tradition for us down at SDCC and Wondercon to gather and talk toys and this year was no exception. We always feel like we learn a ton from this crew and are appreciative! Already looking forward to 2025!
